Rechargeable hand warmers are one of the easiest winter products to put under your own brand. They are small, giftable, sold in every price tier, and buyers reorder every season. This guide covers what you need to settle with a factory before you place an OEM order: specifications, minimum order, lead time, documents and packaging.
What a rechargeable hand warmer is today
Most rechargeable hand warmers on the market share the same core:
- A lithium battery cell (18650 or 21700, depending on size and capacity)
- A heating element controlled by a temperature sensor, so the surface stays at a set level instead of getting hotter and hotter
- Several heat settings, switched with one button
- A USB-C port for charging, and on many models a USB-A port so the warmer doubles as a power bank for a phone
On our current models, the three heat settings are set at about 45 °C, 50 °C and 55 °C (±2 °C), controlled by an NTC temperature sensor. The circuit includes over-voltage, over-charge and battery protection, and the heater will not run if the sensor is shorted or disconnected. Three LED indicators show the heat level and the remaining battery.
Popular formats include a split magnetic design, where two halves snap together and can be shared between two hands or two people, and compact single-piece shapes such as our rugby-ball warmer.
Minimum order and what it includes
Our hand warmers are made to order from 1,000 units per model. That quantity already includes:
- Your logo on the device
- Your user manual
If you also want a custom shell color or your own printed color box, the minimum for those options is 2,000 units per model.
We do not keep hand warmers in stock, so every order is produced for you. That also means you are not buying last season's leftovers.
Lead time and when to order
Production takes about 12 days after you approve the sample and artwork. The full timeline usually looks like this:
- Inquiry – send the model, quantity and target market.
- Sample – evaluate a standard sample.
- Artwork – approve the logo, manual and packaging proof.
- Production – about 12 days.
- Final check and shipment – QC, then handover to your forwarder.
Add your shipping time on top. For winter retail in Europe and North America, most importers place orders in summer and early autumn so stock arrives before the cold season. If you are late in the season, a smaller first order of 1,000 units is a good way to test a design before you commit to a larger run next year.
Certifications to ask for
A hand warmer is a battery-powered electronic product, so buyers in Europe and North America should expect test reports for:
- CE for the EU market
- FCC for the U.S. market
- RoHS for restricted substances
Our hand warmers and heated waist belts have CE, FCC and RoHS test reports, and the battery cells in both of our hand warmer models have CB test reports. We share the reports for the exact model you are sourcing.
Because these products contain lithium cells, your forwarder will also ask about battery shipping documents. Raise this early, and ask us which battery documents are available for the model you choose.
Packaging and accessories
A standard retail set includes:
- Color box with a blister insert that holds the warmer in place
- Charging cable
- User manual
- Warranty card
You can keep our neutral packaging and add your own labels, or move to your own printed color box from 2,000 units.
Checklist before you order

- Logo only (from 1,000 units), or also custom shell color and color box (from 2,000 units)?
